ODM Certification
Assero undertakes the ODM certification process on behalf of CDISC. We follow the same process each time running a series of tests on the tool being certified. The process is as follows:
- Complete development of the tool: This is very important. There is absolutely no point in trying to certify a tool that is still under development. Also, the certification process is not a testing service.
- Determine the use cases that you wish the tool to be certified against:
- Import and / or Export.
- Metadata and / or Data.
- Snapshot and /or Transactional.
- Determine the ODM Version you want to be certified for.
- We then need to determine the type of tool install so as to determine the best way to execute the certification:
- Web-based tool – Assero can execute using a test account across the web.
- Simple PC install – Assero can install and execute.
- Other – Assero will observe the execution of the scenarios via a webex with the tests being run on a test installation.
- Execute the tests. The tests will be executed on a known version of the software (the version being certified). The tests will be executed and an evaluation made. If the tests fail then there is the option to fix and re-execute the tests on a second version of software.
- A report will be produced detailing the outcome (pass or fail) of the certification and, if the certification failed, the reasons for failure and suggested remedies.
The costs are USD $4800 per cycle, each cycle consisting of tests on up to two software versions. If the certification fails on the second version then further cycles will be required until certification is successful.
Upon successful certification the vendor is required to pay the fees as detailed on the CDISC web site.
